After adding a domain in the cloud panel, it must be redirected to our cloud server. There are two ways to set up the domain: Updating the nameservers or manually pointing it to an IP address.
Update nameservers
We recommend configuring our nameservers on the domain. This ensures that everything is set up correctly and if you make a change in the cloud panel, the corresponding change in the DNS zone is carried out automatically. It is the easiest and safest option.
If you have registered your domain with DIHOST, see our article on how to change the nameserver of your domain.
If your domain was registered with another provider, you have to enter our nameservers there. The name servers for your domain were displayed in the cloud panel when the domain was added. Alternatively, you can find them on the DNS zone in the cloud panel (main menu Domains
).
Manual DNS configuration
If you should not be able to use our nameservers, you can point the domain to our cloud server using A and CNAME records configured in the DNS zone of the domain.
You can find the IP address for the A-Record on the overview page of the application (navigate to Applications
in the cloud panel in the main menu and click on the desired domain).
If your website should also be accessible over www, you must also create a CNAME record that points to the domain (without www).
